For years I surfed inside curves of waves and slashed through spray that captured the pure sunlight. I was a child of Nature. I am still that child. Silversmithing is my medium.
As I look through my collection of semi-precious stones, I’m transported to a place where I’ve surfed, sailed or hiked. There is the mountain. There, too, the fog. The land meeting the sea.
Materials are selected, designs are sketched. That’s where inspiration and frustration join forces and sometimes I experience sleepless spells. To finish a piece, I cutback out of my comfort zone and enter that place where, in a final moment, I know if I’ve created a satisfying piece. When I do that, you can probably hear me tap dance!
